Usually if I'm upset about something, working out helps me feel better. I've learned to put person issues aside while working out because being upset about something can serve as a major distraction during workouts. I learned to put all other issues aside other than the task at hand during my gymnastics years, as being distracted can also cause serious injury. But on occasion, workouts do now function as a way to let out anger and frustration or escape from issues in your personal life. On occasion, everything catches up with you while you're on the water or sometimes before that when you're just trying to get your butt out the door. Emotional exhaustion can be more tiring than physical exhaustion - that fact was very evident to me this past week as I didn't work out that much but constantly felt spent. I'm not much of a yoga/zen/meditation kind of person, but I might need it in these coming weeks to help me recover from my emotional injury, as cheesy as that may sound... Cheers to a fast recovery.

Good to be back on the water and think I have a good lifting plan that will help increase my strength while doing minimal damage to my back/ shoulder while I'm recovering. Felt like I actually had a good water workout. Those workouts where you feel like you can really push yourself because your form is actually half decent are the best (referring to Saturday's row).
This girl is back on the water! Not the best equipment, but it's better than nothing!
My stomach has been giving me less issues so hopefully the trend continues. Also still crossing my fingers that I'm on the other side of this whole diarrhea experience. I left for vacation with one illness and came back with another. I got to see a lot of cool things, but the diarrhea killed it for me at the end. I feel like I'm normally an active vacationer who does at the very least lots of hiking and walking. This week that was not the case. Here's to having more control over bowel movements in the very near future!
